Beers

We have several beers confirmed for the event plus a few to be added over the next two weeks.

Proposed Beer List

Ledbury Real Ales - Ledbury

Ledbury Bitter - 3.8%

A traditional copper colour with a noticeably bitter start. Made from two local Herefordshire hops (Pilgrim and Progress) with a late hop providing an enjoyable finish with hints of spice.

Ledbury Gold - 4%

Made using two local Herefordshire hops. It is a golden bitter with a malt and hop combination that ensures it is well balanced with a honey and fruit finish.

Ledbury Green Hop, Nugget Church Farm - 4%

From picking to brew in no time at all, this produces another fresh traditional ale using hops from a local grower. A real charmer.

Ledbury Pale Ale - 4%

Combines new local aroma hops with US hops to provide a beer with a lot of ‘nose’. Hopped 3 times during the boil and then again twice more in the fermentation tank it provides this beer with a lot of depth and of course the aroma you expect from a pale ale.

Green Hop - Ernest (possibly Harlequin) - 4%

The aim is to have the hops in the brew within 60 minutes of picking, the use of fresh hops allows the beers to be full of the freshest flavours and aromas and capture all of the delicate oils from the flowers before they begin to oxidise.

North Cotswold Brewery - Moreton-in-Marsh

Shagweaver -4.5%

Award winning refreshing golden hoppy ale brewed with New Zealand hops. Appeals to ale and lager drinkers alike. Great with spicy food. Many are intrigued by it's name. It's quite simple really. The Cotswolds is famous for sheep and the wool industry. "Shag" is old English word meaning a heavy or rough woollen fabric. So Shagweaver literally means "wool weaver".

Hung, Drawn 'N' Portered - 3.8%

Award winning strong, dark treacle-coloured porter, brewed with English hops and a malty finish. An ale that harks back to 18th century London. Descended from brown beer, porter is a well hopped beer made from dark roasted malt. The name came about as a result of its popularity with street and river projects.

Bespoke Brewery - Littledean

Money for Old Rope - 4.8%,

An award winning stout. Classic rich, dark flavours of malt and grain with plenty of body. Taste of Dublin!!

Santa’s Little Helper - 4.6%

A festive bronzed IPA full of rich hops, malty, spice and some sweetness, this beer balances the malty flavours with a hoppy finish.

Motley Hog Brewery - Ross-on-Wye

Mayor Tipple - 3.8%

Citra single hopped ale, with hints of tropical fruit and a crisp Citra finish.

Gilpins Gold - 4.3%

An easy drinking ale with a light sweet malty taste and a pleasurable finish.

Grey Trees Brewery - Aberdare

Mosaic Pale Ale - 4.2%

A modern ale alive with citrus flavours and a smooth after taste.

Drummer boy Copper - 4.2%

Copper coloured beer with hints of caramel and black currants and a fruity finish. Created in memory of Stuart Cable the late drummer of the Stereophonics who grew up and lived in the brewery's home town of Aberdare.

Music

This year we have live music on both Friday and Saturday evenings featuring some fantastic local bands. However, there will be a quiet lounge for those who would rather sip in peace.

Friday

Update: The Godseys have had to pull out through unforeseen circumstances. However, we are pleased to announce that the Harrisons will be playing instead; they are another well known popular local band with membership crossover with the Godseys. Guaranteed to get your feet tapping.

Saturday

We welcome another local band, Borderlines. Formed in 2020, the 7 piece Borderlines is an eclectic blend of talented musicians based in the lower Wye Valley. Another foot tapping band with a wide range of music genres: pop, rock, soul and blues - plenty to enjoy.

Food

Friday

Returning to the Beer Festival following great feedback from 2022 is the “Horsebox Pizza” offering delicious Wood Fired Pizza.
