Classic Car Show record?
23 August 2024
The organisers of the Penallt Classic Car show would like to extend their thanks to all those who attended the show last weekend. As always, we are indebted to the volunteers, bakers and bar staff who make up our village community - we can't do it without you. The fabulous music was courtesy of Niki Felstead and the Borderlines who managed to play at both our car show and the Monmouth show!
With the perfect goldilocks weather that ensured the parking marshals maintained a rosy suntan without melting in the August sun, I'm pleased to share we hosted 300 paying visitors and over 150 classic cars and bikes. I'm not certain, but I believe that is somewhat of a record for the event. Prizes were given for best in show, both car and motorbike, plus a judges’ favourite with the owners of these obviously cherished vehicles getting rosettes and a small prize each.
From the financial stakes, we raised just over £1700 for Pelham Hall from the entry fees, bar sales, cakes and food proceeds - a fantastic result! I hope you'll agree that the band, weather and of course the cars made for a great event which will be back in 2026.
