The New Penallt WhatsApp Community

Everything in one place, but only the bits you want.

For a while, many of us have used the "Pelham Hall Chat" to stay in touch. As the village gets busier, we are moving to a new, organised system called a WhatsApp Community. Think of the Community like a Digital Noticeboard in the Hall. On this board, there are different "sheets" for different interests. You can look at all of them, or just the ones that matter to you.

Why the change?

  • Stop the "Ping" Overload: You no longer have to be in one giant group where your phone goes off all day for events you aren't attending.

  • Pick and Choose: You can join the "IT Support" or "Holiday Homes" groups and ignore the rest.

  • Official Updates: There is one special "Announcements" section where only the organisers can post. This means you won't miss important news buried under 50 "Thank You" messages.

How to Join

  1. Open the link: Click the "Join Up" link or the logo above.

  2. Enter the "Foyer": You will first be added to the Penallt Announcements group. This is the main entrance.

  3. Choose your groups: Once inside, you can click on "View Groups". Here you will see a list of village clubs and interests. Simply tap the ones you want to join.

Information for Village Clubs & Groups

Do you run a local club, a coffee morning, or a sports team?

We want to help you reach the village without you having to manage a massive list of phone numbers yourself. We can set up a "Sub-Group" for you within the Penallt Community.

The benefits for your club:

  • Visibility: New villagers will see your club listed the moment they join the Community.

  • Easy Management: You stay in charge of your own group, but we provide the "roof" over your head.

  • Privacy: Members can join or leave your group whenever they like.

How to get a group for your club: If you’d like a space for your group, please send a message to [Insert Name/Contact]. Just let us know the name of your club and who will be the main "leader" for that chat. We’ll get it set up for you in minutes.
