Thursday 8 Jun: East Bank Lighthouse talk

Secrets of the East Bank Lighthouse and Sir Peter Scott

East Bank Lighthouse in The Wash National Nature Reserve in Lincolnshire is where the young Peter Scott became an artist and planned global nature conservation. It was the inspiration for Paul Gallico's story 'The Snow Goose'.

Penallt residents Sue and Doug Hilton own the lighthouse and are very involved in its history and the surrounding wildlife.

Their family set up the Snowgoose Wildlife Trust, a charity which is “passionate about conservation of the natural environment and the engagement of people within it”.

Doug has agreed to give us what promises to be a fascinating illustrated talk on the history of the lighthouse and what was achieved there through Sir Peter Scott.

The talk will take place in the Pelham Hall bar area after Fish and Chips on Thursday 8th June and all are welcome. Donations for the Snowgoose Wildlife Trust will be collected during the evening too.

All welcome!
