The Parish of Penallt encompasses two inns these days, one at the heart of the village, the Inn at Penallt (formerly The Bush, seen above) and one on the banks of the River Wye, opposite Redbrook, The Boat.
The Inn at Penallt was revitalised by Andy and Jackie Murphy's management since March 2010 and new owners Chris and Bronwyn Bolton, who took over in January 2016, plan to continue this development. See their message of welcome here.
Its restaurant gained an AA rosette early in 2012, in September 2012, the AA awarded it the prestigious Welsh Pub of the Year award and in July 2014, the AA awarded a second rosette. More recently, the 2014 Michelin Guide included The Inn as one of its recommended places to eat.
