Running race through Penallt in July

Running Race through Penallt in July

Penallt resident Richard Newhouse has been helping the Monmouth Triathlon Club to organise an Aquathlon (a swim-run) for Monmouth Carnival day, Sunday 27 July. Adult competitors will swim in the River Wye and get out at Monmouth School Sports Centre. From there they will run down the Wye Valley Walk to Redbrook, cross over to The Boat, and run back up the Penallt side to Troy Farm, before crossing back over to the school sports field.

Some competitors will only be doing the run, either in a stand-alone running race or as a two-person team in the Aquathlon. There are also children’s races, with swimming in the MSSC pool and shorter runs. Penallt residents are very welcome to enter, or to come down to watch (and encourage the runners!). In addition, if you can spare a couple of hours on that Sunday morning to help direct runners as they come past Penallt, Richard would love to hear from you! He’s and you can read about the event on the Monmouth Triclub webpage.
