2016 SHOW OUTPERFORMS ALL PREVIOUS YEARS
The day dawned bright and hopes were high for a good turnout. Following the disappointing weather and the resulting low turnout in 2014, all we could do was to wait and see who and what would turn up at the cricket ground.
Well we were not to be disappointed and before we talk about the results of the show we must pay tribute to the small army of helpers who made the day possible.
So to the car parkers and the ticket sellers, the money takers and the tent builders, the tea and cake ladies and the cup washers, the bar staff and bunting hangers, the judges, the sponsors and those who helped to clear everything away at the end of day, a huge thankyou for your efforts both before and during the show.
You contributed to making this year's show the busiest and most probably the most profitable for Pelham Hall. As a visitor said, "You have it all here. The cars and the bikes. Fish and chips for lunch, followed by cake and ice-cream!"
To give you some detail of the great day that we all contributed towards:
• We welcomed c1,000 people through the gates
• Who saw c175 cars and c40 motorbikes
• And bought over 500 raffle tickets
• And consumed over £1,500 in fish ‘n’ chips, ice creams and tea and cakes
• And drank an unmentionable amount of beer over the bar
