Burns Night was celebrated in high style at Pelham Hall, Penallt on Saturday 24th January. Organised by the Committee of Art in Penallt and so ably assisted in the kitchen by Susan Flower, a traditional supper of Cock-a-Leekie Soup, Haggis and Tipsy Laird was served to one hundred villagers followed by several customary speeches.
No doubt emboldened by the tots of whisky no persuasion was needed for everyone to join in the Scottish Reels organised by Oonagh Bastille and Gervase Oakeley of the Monmouthshire Reel Club. In fact so much so that we have referred on several enquiries to Oonagh who can be contacted on firstname.lastname@example.org for more details of the club.
