I trained as a textile designer at Falmouth School of Art and worked in the textile industry for some years. In the 1980s I studied printmaking at Hereford College of Art and more recently at West Dean College and the Sidney Nolan Trust.
Since becoming a printmaker my work has become more illustrative and incorporates a love of pattern and texture, which have always been important elements for me. The subject matter is often influenced by classic legends and fairy tales and typically features natural forms including animals, birds and mythical beasts.
I use several printmaking techniques which include etching, screen-printing, collagraph, wood engraving, linocut and monoprints.
