Getting outside is good for the soul. Through my artwork, I try to bring the outside in, to reconstruct the wild within the home, to re-connect with nature by taking raw materials from the earth and transforming them through fire. The objects I make fall into two categories: functional items for the house and sculptural pieces for the garden/site specific installations.

Functional ware: the unique stoneware glazes and forms I create explore the essence and fluidity of water; the ebb and flow of life.

Sculptural pieces: I use clay and wood to transform natural forms such as mushrooms into sculptural forms. The micro landscape is magnified.

All my pieces are glazed with colours from nature’s pallet. The alchemy process of ceramics provokes the senses and utilises the elements of fire, air, earth and water.
