Clare Tuggey

After completing a Diploma in commercial photography my career took off working for Avon International in London, and then stopped abruptly as I followed my new army husband to Hong Kong.

There followed many years of dabbling in watercolours, batik painting and acrylic painting and many moves and it was not until we finally settled back in Monmouth that I was able to take up painting seriously.

I took the foundation year at Hereford College of Art which didn’t involve any painting at all, spent ten years designing and producing websites and then finally turned my back on that and began studying oil painting in earnest.

I attended the Welsh Academy of Art in Cwmdu for three years, and am now able to spend more time painting, in oils, both in Monmouthshire and Pembrokeshire.
